Sara Lina returns with rebellious anthem
Brava begins at dusk: the workday is over, the sky painted in pastels, and the warm summer air buzzing with possibilities. The evening invites adventure, and instead of heading straight home, Sara Lina lets herself be swept away on an unintended detour through the city nightlife – a flight into a drunken whirlwind. “Fai la brava” – Italian for “behave yourself” – echoes like a fatherly reminder in the narrator’s mind each time she defies the admonition and chooses the opposite path: martini pools, untamed freedom, and a dance between liberation and self-destruction.
With her distinctive, airy, and melancholic voice, Sara Lina establishes herself as an independent and promising presence on the Danish music scene. Her debut single Only Say Yes made it into rotation on P6 BEAT, and she has been highlighted by Gaffa as well as Soundvenue on their “Breakin’ Sound 2025” list.
Sara Lina studied at Melbourne College of Arts in Australia, where she initially went for sun and surf – but soon found herself drawn into the city’s darker corners. What was meant to be one year turned into four, and those experiences are now reflected in her upcoming debut album (TBA).
Live, she has performed at both SPOT Festival, Byhaven, and Uhørt Festival, as well as supported Mekdes. With Brava, she gives in to impulses she knows may come with consequences – and the result is a captivating sonic adventure with a form and identity all its own.
