Erik Apollo kicks off 2025 with new single

Last year, former frontman of TÅRN, Erik Apollo, debuted under his own name with the EP “P.t.” which was rewarded with a 5 star review in GAFFA. Now, he kicks off 2025 with a highly infectious indie rock song about being knocked off his feet by a tiny new being.

Erik Apollo has already left his mark on the Danish music scene as the lead singer of TÅRN. With songs like Læber Lyser Rødt, Solskin Over Tage, and Den Som Alting Drejer Om, his voice has reached many ears—through radio, records, and live performances.

Erik’s lyrics often revolve around dilemmas and at times surreal situations that the “main character” must navigate, and this element is once again present in his latest release, Perleblå (Pearl Blue). Here, the narrator finds himself completely overwhelmed by a newborn girl—his own daughter. And just as natural as it is for children to be born, it can feel just as surreal to hold your own newborn child and see yourself reflected in its eyes.

The intensity of Perleblå builds steadily throughout the song, mirroring the lyrics, which describe the night Erik’s daughter was born and the overwhelming emotions that coursed through his body and mind as the night unfolded.

The recording is produced by Larle Damsgård and Mikkel Fink, with Søren Buhl Lassen adding the final artistic touch in the mix.

With support shows for Barselona and several concerts under his own name last year, there is much more in store this year beyond the release of this new single. Perleblå is just the first single from Erik Apollo’s debut album, set for release in early fall 2025.
